tlk.io

A simple web chat

Visit tlk.io

tlk.io is a web-based chat service that lets people create chat rooms in seconds without registration or invitations. Rooms are shared by sending their URL, so participants can join from a browser tab on desktop, tablet, or phone without installing an app. Users can post under a nickname without logging in, or sign in with Twitter to use their name and avatar.

Rooms support @mentions that highlight messages for a specific user, hashtags that turn into channel links, inline image previews, link detection, and limited Markdown formatting including bold, italic, code, strikethrough, lists, blockquotes, horizontal rules, and image links. A chat widget can be embedded on other websites with configurable channel name, width, height, day/night/pop/minimal themes, optional custom CSS, and a data-nickname attribute for passing existing user names. An unofficial WordPress plugin is also available.

tlk.io is aimed at individuals and site owners who need a quick, disposable chat room or an embeddable chat widget. The service is offered without ads and is supported through optional patron pledges and one-time donations; no free plan, trial, or seat-based editions are described.
