Shutter
Screenshot tool for Linux.
Shutter is a screenshot program for Linux-based systems such as Ubuntu. It captures a selected area, window, desktop or workspace, menu, tooltip, or website, then lets you edit and upload the result from a single window. It is free and open-source under GPL v3.
Capture modes include a specific area with zoom and resize, multi-monitor desktop capture, window selection from a list, and a countdown for menus and tooltips; website capture uses gnome-web-photo. The built-in editor adds text, arrows, rectangles, ellipses, and other shapes with adjustable color, fonts, and line width, plus censor and pixelize tools for hiding data, an auto-increment shape for step-by-step guides, and cropping. Uploads include link formatting for forums and wikis, and plugins add image effects. The interface uses tabs to keep multiple screenshots open.
