Rimward

Rimward is security software designed for solar portfolio managers. It addresses the problem of knowing whether the cameras already installed on solar sites are actually working and providing adequate coverage. Instead of relying on manual checks, spreadsheets, and phone calls, Rimward continuously verifies each camera's status, identifies coverage gaps, and consolidates alerts from multiple cameras into a single, clear event for the monitoring team.

The software checks the existing cameras and recorders on a site, reporting each camera's status as ready, degraded, unknown, or unprotected. It compares current camera views against a site baseline to detect changes in coverage, such as a moved camera leaving a section of fence exposed. When an intrusion is detected, Rimward sends one alert with evidence from every camera that captured the event, filtering out false alarms from animals, weather, or camera glitches. It also maintains a history of site readiness and alert decisions for reporting.

Rimward is built for asset managers who oversee multiple solar sites with existing camera installations and a team expected to respond to alerts. It offers a free site assessment to evaluate a single site's camera health and coverage gaps. The software can operate in the cloud by default, with an optional local gateway for sites with limited connectivity.
