phpDocumentor is a documentation generator for PHP source code. It reads DocBlocks in the code to build searchable documentation output, including UML class diagrams rendered with PlantUML or GraphViz. It supports current PHP language features and can run offline.

The tool provides full-text search, DocBlock-based detail, and CI integration through a GitHub Action or Docker image. It can be installed as a PHAR file, run from a Docker image, or added as a development dependency with Composer using the shim package.

phpDocumentor is an open source project. The pages do not describe paid editions, trials, or seat-based or usage-based packaging.
