openDCIM is a free, web-based Data Center Infrastructure Management application released under the GPL v3 license. It is designed to replace spreadsheets for tracking data center inventory, covering physical asset tracking, capacity management across space, power, and cooling, fault tolerance simulation, and integration with intelligent power strips and UPS devices. It is built on a MySQL database for reporting and export to other applications.

Key features include image mapping with clickable cabinet zones, overlay layers for power, space, temperature, and weight capacity, power connection mapping from device to power strip to panel to source feed, network connection mapping for switch devices, chassis device support, a graphical cabinet viewer, multiple levels of user rights, a workflow system for rack requests, hosting cost reporting by department, fault tolerance reporting and outage impact simulation, and support for automatic transfer switches. Integrations cover APC, Geist Manufacturing, Liebert, and Server Technologies power strips and UPS devices, with OIDs updatable for other manufacturers. A RESTful API is listed as in development.

openDCIM is intended for data center operators and administrators managing physical infrastructure. It runs on a LAMP server with Apache, MySQL, PHP, and user authentication via Apache or LDAP, and is accessed through a web-based client. The software is provided at no cost under the GPL v3 license.
