OCLC
Worldwide, member-driven library organization
OCLC is a nonprofit, member-driven global library organization that provides shared technology services, original research, and community programs. It helps libraries address common challenges by pooling resources and data, making information more accessible to end users through shared WorldCat data, syndication programs, and partnerships.
Its offerings include WorldShare Management Services (WMS), a fully integrated library services platform; EZproxy for delivering e-content securely; and OCLC Meridian for creating linked data from library catalogs. OCLC also provides APIs through its Developer Network, research on library challenges, and learning resources such as WebJunction webinars and courses. The Trust Center covers compliance, privacy, and security practices, and notes work on library-specific AI solutions.
OCLC serves public, academic, research, special, and school libraries, as well as groups and consortia, across more than 100 countries. Services are organized around membership, with products and programs available to member libraries; specific packaging details such as plans or trials are not described here.
