MailWasher
The free spam blocker
MailWasher is a spam filtering program for Windows that lets you preview and delete unwanted emails on the server before they reach your inbox. It works with IMAP and POP3 accounts, including Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and others, and runs before your email client checks mail. It flags spam, phishing attempts, scams and malicious attachments, with a recycle bin for restoring deleted messages.
Detection uses blacklists, custom rules, keyword filters, Bayesian learning, real-time blackhole lists and a friends list. Additional features include a friends list and customizable blacklist, custom filters for newsletters and foreign-language email, learning filters that adapt to your classifications, a full preview pane, auto-delete, inbox search, automatic updates and interface customization. A free mobile app is available for Android and iPhone, and the desktop software runs on Windows.
MailWasher is aimed at individual users who want direct control over email filtering across one or more accounts. It is packaged as a free version limited to one email address and a Pro edition supporting unlimited addresses, with a free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee on Pro.
