Visit LibHunt

LibHunt is a directory of open-source projects, libraries and tools organized by programming language and topic. It monitors posts on Reddit, Hacker News and Dev.to in near real time, records mentions of open-source repositories, and uses that data to compile ranked lists of popular projects, alternatives and similar projects. Lists covering alternatives, similar projects, popular projects and programming languages are licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0, allowing use, sharing and adaptation with attribution to LibHunt.

The site includes a programming languages popularity index, a Find Alternatives page for locating similar projects and alternatives to GitHub projects, and special rankings such as the Best CSS Frameworks and the Best Open-Source Databases. It also runs a network of sub-community sites focused on languages, technologies and frameworks, including Android, C++, Crystal, Elixir, Go, Haskell, iOS, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, .NET, Node.js, PHP, Python, React, Ruby, Rust, Scala, Self Hosted, Swift and SysAdmin. Project pages show mentions, stars and related discussion posts, with topic pages such as Security listing ranked projects and recent posts.

LibHunt is aimed at developers looking for libraries and open-source projects to support their work. The service is supported through sponsorships, and no paid plans, trials, editions or seat-based or usage-based packaging are described.
