Lean Library Workspace (formerly Sciwheel)

An easy and intuitive way to discover, read, annotate, write and share scientific research

Visit Lean Library Workspace (formerly Sciwheel)

Lean Library Workspace, formerly Sciwheel, is a reference management workspace for scholarly research. It brings discovery, access, saving, annotation and citation into one place, helping users move from finding sources to writing them up without switching between separate tools.

Browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge let users access institutional library resources, save references to their library, and highlight or annotate web texts and PDFs. The workspace organizes references with projects and tags, supports shared projects for collaboration, and syncs content across devices with cloud storage. A Microsoft Word add-in and Google Docs add-on insert formatted references and bibliographies in over 7,000 citation styles directly in the document.

It is aimed at researchers and students. A free Starter plan covers up to three projects, with a Premium subscription for unlimited projects, references and storage. Institutions and lab groups can arrange custom plans, and users with university access can check for Premium Access.
