Koa
next generation web framework for node.js
Koa is a Node.js web framework for building web applications and APIs. It uses async functions instead of callbacks to simplify error handling, and it ships without bundled middleware, keeping the core small while providing methods for common tasks such as content negotiation, cache freshness, proxy support, and redirection.
Middleware functions are composed and executed in a stack-like cascade, with control flowing downstream and then back upstream. The framework exposes an application object with settings for environment, signed cookie keys, proxy trust, subdomain offsets, proxy IP headers, and async local storage. A Context object encapsulates Node's request and response per request, and applications can be mounted together or run as HTTP and HTTPS servers. Error handling emits an application-level error event, with a default handler that writes to stderr.
Koa requires Node.js v18.0.0 or higher and is installed via npm. It is intended for developers building servers and APIs on Node.js.
