issit
Slack app that turns Slack messages into GitHub issues
issit is a Slack app that solves the problem of ideas and issues raised in Slack conversations being forgotten. It allows users to capture those moments directly by creating GitHub Issues from Slack messages, turning fleeting thoughts into tracked tasks.
The app works through a Slack message shortcut called "Make it a GitHub issue" that opens an issue form with the selected message pre-filled in Markdown format. Setup requires installing the Slack app to a workspace, installing the GitHub App (issit-app) to a GitHub organization, authenticating a GitHub account, and linking a repository to a Slack channel using a Slack command. The app supports multiple channels and multiple GitHub organizations.
issit is designed for teams using Slack and GitHub who want to capture issues and ideas from conversations. It is currently offered as a free product with all features available at no cost. All users in a Slack workspace can use it, provided they have a GitHub account.
