HeidiSQL is a free, open-source database client for Windows, Linux and macOS that lets users connect to multiple database systems from a single window, edit data and structures, write queries, and export or import data. It supports MariaDB, MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Interbase, Firebird, ProxySQL and Redshift.

Key capabilities include creating and editing tables, views, stored routines, triggers and scheduled events; SQL export with compression and clipboard support; transfer between servers; user-privilege management with roles and authentication plugins; text-file import; and table-row export to CSV, HTML, XML, SQL, LaTeX, Textile, PHP, Markdown and JSON. The query editor offers syntax highlighting, code completion and SQL reformatting. Connections can be made via command line, SSH tunnel or SSL settings, and the tool includes table browsing and editing, bulk table operations, batch file insertion, text search across databases, table optimization and repair, client-process monitoring, and a parallel mysql.exe window.
