Visit HackMIT Open Source

HackMIT Open Source is a collection of open source software projects created by HackMIT to support running hackathons and related events. The projects address registration and application review, real-time help queues, project expo judging, hardware checkout, presence sharing, online puzzles, and a virtual event environment.

The collection includes Quill for hackathon registration, appreader for managing applications and scoring, HELPq for real-time help and mentor queues, Gavel for project expo judging, Cog for hardware inventory and checkout, OffiX for WiFi-based presence sharing, and Hack Playground for a virtual event space. It also includes the HackMIT Puzzle, the hackmit.org splash site, Redisred as a Redis-based URL redirector with Slack integration, and Hubot plugins: hubot-redisred, hubot-group, hubot-conf, and hubot-shortcut.

The projects are aimed at hackathon organizers, mentors, hackers, and classroom settings, as well as developers extending Hubot-based chat bots. The projects are released as open source, with hackmit.org code under an MIT license and content/assets under a CC BY-NC-ND license. Some projects are marked as coming soon.
