HabitLab
Change your online habits
HabitLab is a Chrome extension that helps users spend less time on distracting websites such as Facebook and YouTube. It addresses online time management by applying different interventions on each visit and tracking usage so users can see how they spend their time online.
Users set goals for sites they want to reduce, and HabitLab cycles through more than 20 interventions, including hiding news feeds, removing clickbait, and blocking videos. It supports Facebook, YouTube, and other sites the user chooses, and records online usage to show which interventions work best. An Android version is also available.
HabitLab is an open-source project by the Stanford HCI Group, and some anonymized data is sent to Stanford for research purposes. The pages do not describe specific plans, trials, or pricing.
