Glade
A User Interface Designer
Glade is a rapid application development tool for designing user interfaces for the GTK toolkit and the GNOME desktop environment. It addresses the need to create and edit interface layouts without writing all of the layout code by hand. Designs are saved as XML and can be loaded dynamically by applications through GtkBuilder, allowing the same interface files to be used across multiple programming languages, including C, C++, C#, Vala, Java, Perl, and Python. Glade is free software released under the GNU GPL license.
The tool provides a visual editor for GTK widgets and interface layouts, with support for saving and loading GtkBuilder XML files. It includes documentation, tutorials, a user manual, and a help system, along with source repositories and issue tracking for development. Glade is available as a stable tarball, through Windows MSYS2 and macOS Homebrew packages, and as Glade 3.8 for GTK 2. The current stable version is 3.40, which the project notes is its last stable release, with development and maintenance no longer active.
