FreeLists
Mailing list hosting for groups and communities.
FreeLists is a mailing list hosting service that lets people create email lists, find and join existing lists, and manage them through an admin interface. It is intended for distributing messages to subscribers without ads or modifications injected into emails, and it states that lists above a certain volume are not charged for.
Lists are managed through a web-based admin interface built on the LSG/2 interface that comes with Ecartis, the mailing manager used to run the service. Web archives are provided through Mhonarc and Swish-E, and the platform runs on Linux and Apache. The service states there are no limits on subscribers or messages, and offers optional configuration settings along with support from staff.
FreeLists is aimed at groups, communities, and organizations that need email list communication, including topics such as local interests, volunteering, and software projects. The service is offered at no cost, with donations accepted to help cover bandwidth, hardware maintenance, and development.
