Visit ejabberd

ejabberd is an open-source messaging server built in Erlang by ProcessOne, running in production since 2002. It combines an XMPP server, MQTT broker and SIP service in a single deployment, with shared authentication, storage and clustering across protocols. It also offers native Matrix support for interoperability between Matrix homeservers and XMPP federation.

The server supports XMPP with 400+ extensions including MUC, MAM, PubSub, Carbons, Push and OMEMO, MQTT 3.1.1 and 5.0, and a SIP gateway with STUN/TURN for WebRTC. It provides a REST API, command-line tooling (ejabberdctl), a live web admin, and client libraries for iOS, Android and Web (Strophe, XMPPFramework, Smack). Storage backends include PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis and LDAP, with clustering, federation and live upgrades without downtime.

ejabberd is packaged in three editions: a free self-hosted Community release under GPLv2, a Business Edition with LTS support, advanced clustering and monitoring, mobile push at scale and direct support, and a managed SaaS offering operated by ProcessOne with custom domains, automated upgrades and backups.
