Whiteboard is an open-source, MIT-licensed desktop application from /dev/fast that addresses the challenge of reviewing software changes at the architectural level. It provides a canvas for developers to understand and critique code diffs, agent trajectories, and system designs through interactive visualizations, moving beyond line-by-line code review to focus on higher-level structure and intent.

The application offers several key capabilities for architectural review. It visualizes changes as sequence diagrams, database diagrams, and other architectural representations. Its semantic diffing engine, built in Rust, can display long algorithms as pseudocode while preserving function signatures, and is extensible through plugins. Whiteboard also allows users to audit agent trajectories, tracking whether decisions made by coding agents were completed correctly. It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux. A hosted version for team collaboration is planned for future release.

Whiteboard is designed for developers and engineers working with complex codebases, particularly those using AI coding agents. The desktop app is available as a free download, and the source code is publicly accessible on GitHub. Other products from /dev/fast, including Trajectories, Merge-bot, and Formalism, are in alpha or development stages and are available by contacting the team.
