Freeplane is a free and open source desktop application for creating and navigating mind maps, also described as concept maps or information maps. It is written in Java using OSGi and Java Swing, and runs on any operating system with a current version of Java installed, either locally or portably from removable storage such as a USB drive.
The application provides a set of tools for building and working with mapped information, covering thinking, information sharing, and task management in work, school, and home contexts. It is available as a free download, with a change log and issue reporting for bug reports.
