Chef

Smarter infrastructure starts here.

Visit Chef

Chef is an enterprise DevOps and infrastructure automation platform that helps organizations configure systems, maintain compliance, and orchestrate workflows across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and air-gapped environments. It combines UI-driven ClickOps with Policy-as-Code so teams can standardize operations at scale while retaining governance and auditing controls.

The Chef 360 Platform provides workflow orchestration, infrastructure management, continuous compliance scanning and drift remediation, and agentless job execution from a single control plane. Opsmith, an AI feature, generates cookbooks, upgrades legacy code, creates compliance profiles, and automates tasks. Additional capabilities include single sign-on, organization management, disaster recovery, bring-your-own-Kubernetes deployment, pre-defined templates, and cloud security posture management, with integrations for InSpec and various orchestration skills.

Chef targets enterprises managing complex DevOps pipelines and compliance requirements. It is available as SaaS, self-managed, and through AWS and Azure marketplaces, with editions named Business, Enterprise, and Enterprise Plus. Pricing is node-based with annual billing, and a free trial is offered for the self-managed Business tier.
