Bitsum

Real-time CPU optimization and automation for Windows

Visit Bitsum

Process Lasso is Windows process automation and optimization software from Bitsum LLC, a US software company founded in 2002. It addresses the problem of system responsiveness during heavy CPU load by dynamically adjusting process priorities and CPU affinities, and by letting users create rules for how applications run. It is compatible with Windows 7 through 11 and Windows Server 2012 through 2025.

Key features include ProBalance, which maintains responsiveness under high CPU loads; persistent CPU affinities, CPU sets, and priorities; Efficiency Mode control; disallowed processes; instance limits and balancing; CPU Limiter; Group Extender; power plan automation and IdleSaver; Keep Awake; per-process Hyper-Threading or SMT disabling; advanced Watchdog rules; multi-select operations; configuration profiles; GPU metrics and priorities; and a System Activity Log. Rules are enforced by a stand-alone background service called the Process Governor, with the GUI optional. Bitsum also offers related utilities including ParkControl, CoreDirector, CorePrio, PECompact, ThreadRacer, ProcWatch, and a CPU Affinity Calculator.

Process Lasso is available as a free download and a Pro edition, with lifetime licenses sold. CoreDirector is a free Windows application, also available from the Microsoft Store, that keeps specified processes on performance cores rather than efficient cores using Efficiency Mode, CPU sets, or CPU affinities.
