absence.io is an HR platform that brings absence management, time tracking, the digital employee file, and expense and travel cost reporting into a single system. It replaces manual processes such as paper-based leave requests, spreadsheet time records, and scattered employee documents with a browser-based application and native mobile apps for iOS and Android. Data is stored on ISO-certified servers in Germany with SSL encryption and daily backups.
Core capabilities include leave requests and approvals with a team calendar, time recording via stopwatch, terminal, or manual entry with overtime calculation and project labels, a central employee file with role-based access rights, and expense reporting with receipt scanning and automatic data recognition. Integrations cover Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, DATEV, and an open API. The software is available in seven languages.
