WING
Wireless Mesh Network for Next-Generation Internet
WING is an open-source wireless mesh networking platform designed for hobbyists and enthusiasts. It supports multiple radio interfaces to improve spatial reuse and system throughput, and uses an interference- and traffic-aware channel assignment algorithm to dynamically assign operating frequencies. Nodes require no configuration and automatically detect whether they act as relays or gateways. Internet connectivity is provided by mesh gateways over wired or wireless links, and three tiers of deployments are supported, allowing connectivity via point-to-multipoint wireless links. QoS enhancements aim to improve voice capacity and provide performance isolation among competing flows in noisy environments, with traffic differentiation handled through a multi-queue system based on the DiffServ framework.
