Virtual Desktop is a VR application that streams a computer's desktop to a headset, presenting it on a large virtual screen for activities such as watching movies, browsing the web, and playing games. It requires a companion Streamer app installed on the computer, with the headset and computer connected over a local network or, optionally, over the internet with remote connections enabled.
The product is available in PC and standalone versions, with a Classic version for older headsets. It supports Meta Quest, Pico, HTC Vive, Play for Dream MR, and Samsung Galaxy XR devices, as well as Windows and macOS computers. Features include a Games tab for launching SteamVR and Oculus Rift titles, 3D side-by-side movie playback, a Desktop Toolbar, and end-to-end encrypted remote connections. PCVR game streaming requires a VR-ready Windows PC. Downloads are distributed through Steam, the Quest Store, Pico Store, Viveport, Vive Business Store, and Google Play.
