Vaultpay is a mobile application that provides a virtual or physical Visa card without requiring a bank account. Funds are held at Ecobank RDC, and the card can be topped up via mobile money (M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Orange Money) or at a bank agent, then used for online and in-store payments anywhere Visa is accepted. The app also supports sending money to other Vaultpay users, receiving funds via QR code or payment link, and viewing transaction history.
Key features include card management (PIN, blocking, replacement), recurring payment tracking and control, and the ability to link an Ecobank CashXpress Visa card to view its activity alongside a Vaultpay card. The virtual card carries no issuance fee; the physical card requires a one-time issuance fee. Top-ups are charged as a percentage of the amount with a minimum fee, online payments incur a percentage-based fee with a minimum, and transfers between Vaultpay users are free. Cards operate in USD, with daily and monthly load limits that differ between virtual and physical cards.
Vaultpay is intended for individuals aged 18 and over with a Congolese phone number and an official photo ID, who want card-based payments without opening a bank account. It is packaged as a single mobile app with no subscription tiers or free plan; costs are per-transaction (top-ups, online payments) plus a one-time fee for the physical card.
