Typesense
Open-source, typo-tolerant search engine for site and app search
Typesense is an open-source search engine for websites and applications that need fast, typo-tolerant search with an intuitive developer experience. It targets sub-50ms search responses and is designed to reduce the operational burden and learning curve associated with other search technologies.
The engine provides a REST API with libraries for common languages, scoped API keys, multi-tenant indices, and query-time ranking controls. Capabilities include typo tolerance, synonyms, dynamic sorting, merchandising, grouping and distinct results, filtering and faceting, geo search, federated search, vector and semantic search, recommendations, built-in RAG, and high availability through replication. It can be deployed with Docker, native binaries, or RPM/DEB packages, or provisioned through Typesense Cloud, which supports AI-assisted cluster setup and indexing. Pre-built search UI integrations are available for CMS, e-commerce, and development platforms.
Typesense is aimed at developers and teams building search and discovery experiences, from small projects to production applications. It is available as open-source software or through Typesense Cloud, which offers dedicated clusters with no limits on records or operations. Cloud pricing is based on cluster configuration, including memory, vCPU, disk, and optional high availability and search delivery network features. Support plans range from free to prioritized tiers, with migration consulting available for teams moving from other search services.
