Visit OpenSearch

OpenSearch is a community-driven, Apache 2.0-licensed open source search and analytics suite for ingesting, searching, visualizing, and analyzing data. It is a project of the Linux Foundation and can run on premises or in hybrid and multicloud environments without licensing fees.

The suite comprises OpenSearch, a search and analytics engine built on Apache Lucene; OpenSearch Dashboards, a visualization and user interface; Data Prepper, a server-side data collector for enriching, transforming, and aggregating data; and the OpenSearch Vector Engine for machine learning and generative AI applications. Capabilities span search (enterprise search, document search, search relevance), observability (log analytics, performance monitoring), security analytics (threat intelligence, event correlation), and machine learning and AI (vector search, anomaly detection, agent skills). A Migration Assistant supports moving to OpenSearch, and language APIs allow interaction from applications.

It is aimed at developers building search, observability, and security analytics applications, with built-in security, scalable capacity, and high availability for enterprise-grade deployments. The software is open source with no licensing fees; no specific plan or trial structure is detailed.
