Taleshape
Embed product analytics directly into your application
Taleshape is an open source, SQL-first platform for building dashboards, reports, and customer-facing analytics that can be embedded directly into a product. It is powered by the Shaper engine and DuckDB, with data staying in the customer's own infrastructure. SQL queries are written as code and version-controlled in Git, making dashboard changes auditable and reviewable through pull requests.
Core capabilities include SQL-driven dashboards, multi-source querying with DuckDB, interactive filtering and drill-downs, and full CSS white-labeling. Integration options include React and JS SDKs without iframes, row-level security via JWT, Slack and Teams notifications, and a REST API for automated exports. Automation features cover PDF and PNG report generation, Excel and CSV exports, scheduled email delivery, and task orchestration via SQL. The code-based approach also supports using LLMs to generate and iterate on dashboards.
Taleshape is aimed at engineering, platform, and data teams that want to embed analytics into their own products while retaining control over data and infrastructure. It can be self-hosted or run through a managed service. Pricing is structured as a flat fee with unlimited users rather than per-seat licensing.
