Synmetrix is an open-source, API-first semantic layer that centralizes metric definitions upstream of applications, so teams do not need to define metrics separately in each tool. It uses Cube Data Models to turn raw data into business definitions and pre-aggregates data for query performance.
Its feature set includes data models with version control, a SQL API, caching and pre-aggregations, alerts, role-based access, reports, query logs, and team management. It connects to more than 50 data sources and supports self-hosted deployment.
Synmetrix is aimed at data engineers, developers, data scientists, business analysts, and decision makers working across BI and data applications. It is available as an open-source, self-hosted app, with a free option to try and a path to talk to sales.
