SnapShooter

Scheduled backups for servers, databases and applications across cloud providers

Visit SnapShooter

SnapShooter is a backup and snapshot service for servers, databases, and applications, founded in 2017 and now part of DigitalOcean. It schedules snapshots of DigitalOcean Droplets and Volumes, database backups for MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and others, file backups on Linux systems, and application backups for platforms such as WordPress, Craft CMS and Laravel. Backups can be stored in your own S3-compatible storage or in SnapShooter's own S3-compatible storage built on Amazon Web Services.

Features include real-time backup logs, email and Slack notifications, resource monitoring during backups, combined backup jobs, serverless backups, automated restores, and retention policies combining daily, weekly and monthly schedules. Supported storage providers include Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Firebase, UpCloud, ScaleWay and custom S3 endpoints. Security options include two-factor authentication, SSH keys, OpenSSL RSA encryption and IP-based access limits.

SnapShooter is aimed at individuals, developers, small teams, larger teams and web agencies. It offers a free plan covering a single backup resource, alongside Lite, Startup, Business, Agency and Agency Pro editions that scale the number of backup resources, backup frequency, retention options, included storage and team members. Paid plans are available monthly or annually, with a trial and a refund window on paid plans.
