Sierra Chart is a desktop trading and charting platform for financial markets, covering stocks, futures, indexes, forex, currencies, and options. It supports live and simulated trading, both manual and automated, and provides real-time and historical charting with technical analysis tools. It connects to exchanges and backend trading services, and supports the open Data and Trading Communications (DTC) protocol along with FIX and DTC for trading.
Key capabilities include ChartDOM, a depth-of-market trading interface integrated with charts; the Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language for building custom studies, indicators, and trading systems; built-in Excel-compatible spreadsheets; and a Market Depth Historical Graph. It offers direct connections to data and trading services, direct order routing to CME, CBOT, NYMEX, and COMEX, and a trade simulation environment with market depth, risk management, and trade reporting. It runs as native C++ code without Java or .NET.
Sierra Chart is aimed at traders, investors, and clearing firms working across multiple markets. It is available as a free trial, with real-time exchange data carrying an additional cost while delayed exchange data, real-time forex/CFD, cryptocurrency, and historical data are included.
