Electrum is an open source Bitcoin wallet developed by Electrum Technologies GmbH and distributed under the MIT licence. It provides a desktop and mobile application for managing Bitcoin, with releases available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. The project publishes signed, reproducible executables and Python source packages, and supports installation from source or through package managers.
The wallet connects to Electrum servers, with official implementations available in Python and Rust, and users can run their own server. Features include plugin support, localization, and optional crash log uploads that are reviewed before publication. The application is provided at no cost, with no paid editions, trials or seat-based plans described.
