Secluso is a home security camera system designed to address the privacy risks of cloud-based surveillance. It encrypts all footage directly on the device using Messaging Layer Security (RFC 9420), ensuring that video never leaves the user's control in an unencrypted form. The system solves the problem of trusting third-party servers with intimate home footage, as even the company cannot decrypt the video stream.

The camera features on-device AI for processing, and an optional encrypted cloud relay buffer that the company cannot decrypt. Mobile apps enable remote access, alerts, and playback. The firmware is fully open source and built on Raspberry Pi hardware. The system integrates with a self-hosted relay option or the company's optional cloud relay service.

Secluso is intended for privacy-conscious individuals and the self-hosting community. It is offered as a free, open-source firmware that users can build themselves using a Raspberry Pi and off-the-shelf parts. Pre-assembled hardware is available for purchase, with a DIY kit and a plug-and-play edition offered at different price points. The optional cloud relay service includes a free one-year trial, after which it is available for a monthly or annual subscription fee.
