Question2Answer

Open source Q&A platform for PHP/MySQL

Visit Question2Answer

Question2Answer (Q2A) is an open source question and answer platform for PHP and MySQL, designed to help online communities share knowledge. It provides the core mechanics of a Q&A site, including commenting, voting, notifications, points and rankings, so members can ask questions, post answers and build a reputation.

The platform includes an integrated search engine, categories up to four levels deep or tagging, and features such as voting, comments, follow-on and closed questions, points-based reputation management, RSS, email notifications and personal news feeds. It offers built-in user account management with roles for experts, editors, moderators and admins, avatars, custom fields, private messages and public wall posts. It supports WordPress and Joomla integration, custom single sign-on for other sites, and further customization through plugins, themes and translations. SEO features include an XML Sitemap and clean URLs, and it includes protections against XSS, CSRF and SQL injection, along with captchas, moderation and flagging.

Q2A is distributed as open source software under GPL v2+, with downloads available from the project site and GitHub. It requires PHP 5.4 or later with the MySQLi extension and MySQL 5.0 or later, with newer versions of both recommended.
