Pi-hole

Network-wide ad blocking for your entire home or office.

Visit Pi-hole

Pi-hole is a network-level DNS sinkhole that blocks ads and trackers for every device on a network, rather than requiring software on each device. It can be run in a Docker container or installed directly on a supported Linux distribution with an automated installer, and works on hardware such as a Raspberry Pi, PC, VM, or NAS. Point your router's DHCP settings at Pi-hole, or use its built-in DHCP server, so devices use it automatically; pairing it with a VPN such as WireGuard extends protection to mobile data and public Wi-Fi.

Pi-hole includes a built-in web interface for monitoring and management, showing query statistics, client activity, query types, and upstream servers. It offers group-based filtering rules, allow and deny lists with regex support, community blocklist subscriptions, and a query log backed by a long-term database with advanced filtering. A REST API with interactive documentation supports scripting and integrations, and app passwords allow scripts and home-automation tools to connect. Configuration covers DNS, local DNS records, and privacy modes, with Teleporter for backup and restore.
