Photopea is a browser-based photo editor that runs on the user's device using the CPU and GPU, with no file uploads. It opens and saves PSD files, described as its main format, and supports PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, WEBP, SVG, PDF, AI, AVIF, DDS, HEIC, TIFF, MP4, TGA, CDR, PDN, EPS, INDD, Figma and 40 other formats, plus RAW files including DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RW2, RAF, ORF and FFF.
The editor includes layers, masks, layer styles, smart objects, adjustment layers, channels and paths, along with adjustments and filters such as Levels, Curves, Gaussian Blur, Liquify and Puppet Warp. It also supports vector graphics editing and AI features for one-click background removal and replacing image content from a text description. RAW files can be adjusted for exposure, color balance, contrast, highlights and shadows.
Photopea is free to use and runs in a browser without installation. It is aimed at social media users, students and educators, small business owners, and graphic designers.
