Phalcon

High-performance PHP framework

Visit Phalcon

Phalcon is an open-source PHP framework delivered as a C-extension, exposing its classes and interfaces under the Phalcon namespace so developers can use it without writing C. It provides MVC and HMVC application structure, dependency injection, a router, an autoloader, an ORM with PHQL and transactions, caching, and the Volt template engine.

The framework includes modules, components, models, views and controllers for single and multi-module applications, plus a micro application mode for REST services. The ORM supports MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite, with PHQL for object-oriented queries and transaction management for data integrity. Cache backends include Redis, Memcached, Mongo, Files and Apc. Views use Volt, a template engine written in Zephir/C, alongside i18n, a forms builder and flash messages. The autoloader follows PSR-4, and the router provides advanced routing capabilities.

Phalcon is intended for PHP developers building web applications and REST services. It is open-source software released under the new BSD License, with downloads available for Linux/Unix/Mac and Windows DLLs, along with IDE stubs and developer tools.
