Owncast
Open Source Software for Running Your Own Live Stream
Owncast is an open-source, self-hosted live video and web chat server that lets you broadcast from your own server using standard streaming protocols and existing broadcasting software. It addresses the need for a streaming presence you control, with no subscriptions, viewer limits, or forced ads, and can be kept private or made public as desired.
It includes built-in real-time chat with moderation tools, custom emotes, and user authentication; custom branding and domain support with your own CSS; follower notifications across various channels; fediverse integration with Mastodon and ActivityPub; and extensibility through plugins and a web API. It runs on open standards for playback across devices and media players, and can be installed via an installer, a single file, a Docker container, or a hosting provider.
Owncast is aimed at independent creators, groups, developers, and enterprises that want to self-host and customize their streaming. It is downloadable without registration and runs on your own infrastructure, cloud provider, or home computer.
