Free Windows password cracker based on rainbow tables.
Ophcrack is a free Windows password cracker based on rainbow tables, implemented by the inventors of the method. It provides a graphical user interface and runs on multiple platforms, including Windows, Linux/Unix, and Mac OS X.
The tool cracks LM and NTLM hashes and includes a brute-force module for simple passwords. It offers audit mode with CSV export, real-time graphs for analyzing passwords, and the ability to dump and load hashes from an encrypted SAM recovered from a Windows partition. Free tables are available for Windows XP and Vista/7, and a LiveCD is available to simplify cracking without installation. Ophcrack is free and open source software released under the GPL.
