OpenWork

Sovereign AI workspace without vendor lock-in.

Visit OpenWork

OpenWork is a free, open-source desktop AI agent app for macOS, Windows, and Linux, built on OpenCode. It lets users work with AI agents on their own files, with prompts sent directly to the LLM provider they choose. In desktop mode, files stay on the user's machine; hosted cloud workers are optional and run on sandboxed infrastructure. It is positioned as an open-source alternative to Claude Cowork and Codex.

The app supports any model OpenCode supports across 50+ providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and local models, using the user's own API keys. Core capabilities include chat, Library, and Automations, plus browser automation and Anthropic-compatible plugins and skills. Teams can package skills, MCP servers, plugins, and configs into a single link for one-click import. An MCP Gateway makes team skills and tools available in any agent, and an AI Gateway provides one set of keys and limits across models. Scheduled tasks are in alpha; Dispatch and live artifacts are listed as coming soon. OpenWork Cloud adds admin controls, SSO/SAML, an Extension Marketplace, cloud automations, and usage analytics.

OpenWork is aimed at individuals and teams who want to run AI agents on their own files without vendor lock-in. The desktop app is free and open source (MIT), with community support, for organizations up to 5 users. The Team plan adds unlimited users, SSO/SAML, the Extension Marketplace, distributed LLM keys, cloud automations, and standard support, billed monthly. Enterprise adds SCIM provisioning, desktop policies, audit logs, spend observability, white-labeling, and bring-your-own inference, on an annual contract. Optional add-ons include a cloud computer per member and managed inference. Self-hosting the control plane is free for organizations up to 5 users, free for development and testing, and free to evaluate for 30 days with all features.
