OpenWeatherMap

Global APIs for weather, environmental and energy data

Visit OpenWeatherMap

OpenWeather provides global weather, environmental, and energy data through APIs for developers, analysts, and businesses. It covers current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, historical archives, air pollution, solar irradiance, road risk, and related datasets, addressing the need to integrate weather information into applications, analytics, dashboards, and operational workflows.

The One Call API 4.0 unifies current conditions, minute-level and hourly forecasts, national alerts, and historical data on a single timeline. Other offerings include Current Weather, Forecast, Historical Weather, Air Pollution, Geocoding, Weather Maps, Global Precipitation Maps, Solar Irradiance, Solar Panel Energy Prediction, Wind, Road Risk, Fire Weather Index, and AgroMonitoring. Bulk downloads are available for historical weather, archived forecasts, and solar irradiance in CSV and JSON formats, alongside an Enterprise Service for contract-based access.

Self-service plans include a free tier with daily and monthly call limits, a pay-as-you-call One Call option with a free daily allowance, and Startup, Developer, Professional, and Expert subscriptions scaled by call volume. Bulk data is priced per location, while some map and energy products use monthly or per-call pricing. Enterprise options provide contractual terms and SLA choices.
