OpenBSD
Only two remote holes in the default install, in a heck of a long time
OpenBSD is a free, multi-platform 4.4BSD-based UNIX-like operating system developed entirely by volunteers. It addresses the need for a portable, standardized and correct system with a strong focus on proactive security and integrated cryptography. The project publishes security advisories for each release and maintains a secure-by-default installation, with non-essential services disabled until the administrator enables them.
The system includes a security auditing process that reviews critical software components, along with techniques such as privilege separation, privilege revocation, chroot jailing, memory protection, W^X, guard pages, randomized malloc and mmap, and ProPolice. Cryptography is integrated into the system, and the project produces OpenSSH. Releases are available for download from the project's sites, with source code and binary snapshots provided for supported architectures. OpenBSD is developed by volunteers, with development and developer events funded through contributions to The OpenBSD Foundation.
