Open Camera

Open Camera is an open-source camera application for Android phones and tablets. It addresses the limitations of default camera apps by exposing advanced manual controls and offering a wide range of photographic tools that are often locked away by device manufacturers.

The app provides extensive manual controls through the Camera2 API, including adjustments for ISO, white balance, exposure compensation, and focus. It supports multiple capture modes such as HDR with auto-alignment and ghost removal, panorama, exposure bracketing, and focus bracketing. Additional features include an auto-leveling function, remote capture via timer, voice countdown, noise trigger, and Bluetooth LE remote control. Users can apply overlays like grids and crop guides, and the app offers options for on-screen histogram, zebra stripes, and focus peaking. It also supports RAW (DNG) files, slow motion video, and log profile video.

Open Camera is designed for Android users who want more control over their photography without third-party ads within the app. It is free and open source, released under the GPL v3 license, and available on Google Play. The app requires Android 6.0 or newer, though some features depend on device hardware and Android version.
