OliveTin

Run predefined shell commands safely from a web interface

Visit OliveTin

OliveTin is a free and open-source (AGPL) web interface that turns predefined shell commands into clickable buttons. Actions are defined in YAML configuration rather than an admin panel, so each button can include typed arguments such as dropdowns and validated fields. Access Control Lists limit who can view or run each action, and every execution is logged with its output, status, and history.

Login options include local users, OAuth2, JWT, trusted headers, and API keys. Actions can be triggered by clicking a button, cron schedules, webhooks, calendar files, or file changes in a directory, and can run locally or over SSH. Additional capabilities include generating actions from entity lists, organizing buttons into dashboards with folders and fieldsets, and running on devices ranging from small ARM and RISC hardware to Linux VMs, containers, macOS, and Windows.

OliveTin is aimed at giving non-administrators and AI agents access to a limited set of approved commands rather than open shell access. It is packaged as free and open-source software with no separate core or premium editions, no paid features or plugins, and no SaaS version.
