Moonlight Game Streaming

Open source game streaming client for playing PC games remotely

Visit Moonlight Game Streaming

Moonlight is an open source game streaming client, formerly known as Limelight, that implements NVIDIA's GameStream protocol. It lets users stream their PC game collection, including the full Windows desktop, to supported devices in another room or over the internet, so games can be played remotely rather than only at the gaming PC.

The client supports streaming at up to 4K with HDR and up to 120 FPS, with an option to disable V-Sync for lower latency. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Steam Link devices, Raspberry Pi 4, ChromeOS, Android, iOS and Apple TV, Amazon FireOS, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X, plus homebrew ports for PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, Wii U, LG webOS and Tizen OS TVs, and embedded single-board computers. Compatible hosts include Sunshine, the recommended open-source host, GeForce Experience, and Wolf for streaming from Docker containers. Self-hosting is supported through port forwarding, IPv6, and software-defined virtual networks such as ZeroTier, Tailscale, and NordVPN Meshnet.

Moonlight is a community-run project released under the GPLv3 license, with source code hosted on GitHub. It is provided free of charge, with no paid editions, subscriptions, or seat-based licensing.
