Kile

An Integrated LaTeX Editing Environment

Visit Kile

Kile is a TeX/LaTeX editor developed by KDE that brings editing, compiling, and previewing of LaTeX documents into a single environment. It is designed to reduce the steps involved in starting and maintaining LaTeX documents, from initial setup through navigation and revision.

The editor provides one-click compile, convert, and view, along with auto-completion of LaTeX commands, templates and wizards for new documents, and insertion of standard tags and symbols with support for user-defined tags. Inverse and forward search links the DVI viewer with the editor, while a chapter and section list supports navigation within a document. Projects group related documents and support insertion of citations and references. Additional capabilities include a flexible build system, QuickPreview for previewing a selected part of a document, access to help sources, and advanced editing commands.

Kile runs on Linux, Microsoft Windows, Mac, and BSD. The project publishes a stable release for KDE4 and an unstable release for KDE Frameworks 6.
