Written entirely in Java, Jacksum behaves identically across platforms without recompilation. It covers calculating hashes of files, file trees, strings, streams, and platform-specific inputs; generating and verifying check lists and wanted lists; finding duplicates or identifying unknown hash algorithms; and gathering algorithm information. It also supports generating pseudo random numbers and reproducible passwords from a master password.
