Hopp is an open-source screen-sharing and remote-control application designed for developers who pair program remotely. It addresses the limitations of general meeting tools by providing high-definition streaming, low-latency shared control, and support for sharing any application on the screen rather than only a browser tab.
Sessions launch from the menu bar and support up to 10 participants per room with shared cursors, screen annotations, custom keyboard shortcuts, and audio with active noise cancellation. Streaming defaults to 4K, and shared control operates with sub-100ms latency. A Slack integration is available for starting calls, and the tool runs on macOS and Windows, with Linux support planned.
Hopp is aimed at engineering teams performing code reviews, debugging, mob programming, and onboarding. It is offered as a hosted cloud service with a free 14-day trial and per-user monthly subscription, a managed single-tenant private cloud deployment, and a self-hostable open-source version.
