GPG Suite (GPG Mail)

GPG Mail 8 beta for macOS Golden Gate

GPG Mail is an OpenPGP extension for Apple Mail on macOS, distributed as part of GPG Suite. It lets users handle OpenPGP encryption and signing directly within Mail. GPG Mail 8 is currently in beta for macOS Golden Gate, where Apple's Mail team fixed a major crash introduced in macOS Tahoe; some features the developer considers essential are still missing, and they are working with Apple to resolve them, with no timeline shared for when those features will arrive or when the beta will end.

The extension is installed through GPG Suite and enabled in Mail's Settings under Extensions, with activation handled in GPG Keychain's Settings. GPG Mail 8 beta requires an active GPG Mail 7 Support Plan. Starting with GPG Mail 8, the support plan will be a yearly subscription, and older support plans will be credited toward subscription fees when converting. A 30-day free trial is available for users who have not started one in the past.
