FreeFixer
A general purpose removal tool for potentially unwanted software
FreeFixer is a general purpose removal tool for Windows that helps users identify and delete potentially unwanted software, including adware, spyware, trojans, viruses, worms and rootkits. It scans a wide range of locations where unwanted software is known to appear or leave traces, such as running programs, startup programs, browser plug-ins and home page settings. The tool presents scan results and leaves it to the user to decide what to remove or restore to its default value, with additional information available for each item to support that decision.
Scan results distinguish files on FreeFixer's trusted files list from unknown items. Files that cannot be deleted in normal Windows mode are registered for delayed removal with FreeFixer's Native Deleter, which removes them at the next reboot before the logon screen appears. FreeFixer is freeware, compatible with 32- and 64-bit Windows across a range of Windows versions from Windows 2000 through Windows 10.
